Students took part recently in a Cross Country event for schools run by St Laurence O’Toole’s Athletic Club. It took place in the Carlow Hurling Club. Schools from all over the county were represented. Races were 800m, 1,000 m or 1,200 m depending on your age. There was also a race for wheelchair users. It was a most enjoyable day with everyone really pushing themselves to finish these long races.
Leah Shortt came in the top ten in her race of over one hundred runners.
Vickii Taraszka was awarded a medal for her achievement in the wheelchair race.
